What is Resistance?

Resistance is the property of a substance, which opposes the flows of electricity through it. Every material offers some resistance or opposition to the flow of electric current through it.

If current can pass through an electrical component easily it means that component has a small resistance. And if it is difficult for electric to pass through a component it means that component has a large resistance or offers a great resistance to flow of electric current through that component.
The unit of resistance it ohm. Resistance donated by (R), the value of resistance one ohm. At that time when due to (IV) the current passes through the circuit is (IA).
In short a very thing which opposes the current is called the resistance.
