Copper is a material used as a conductor in cables. Copper has low resistivity and higher conductivity. Copper is mostly used in cables but always used in annealed condition. Aluminium is  a good conductor. But copper conductor is preferred on aluminium conductor due to some reasons. Every person known that all the metals have different current carrying capacity.
The conductor of a cable may consist of solid metal or of wires or segments stranded together. In below table diagram the resistivity of some conductor material is shown.
