What is Fuse?

Fuse :

            "Fuse is a device consisting of a melt-able metal link inside a casing"
The low-voltage fuse consisting of a short length of conductor, which can carry a certain amount of current indefinitely but will fuses if the current is greater. In domestic wiring rewire able fuse is used.
H.R.C fuse are commonly used in commercial wiring.
Fuse elements are made in a varicty of shapes, to produce either quick heating melting action. Besides its current rating, every fuse also has a voltage rating.
The fuse voltage rating specifies the maximum allowable source voltage of the circuit in which the fuse is used.
