Open Electric Circuit and Closed Electric Circuit

Open circuit has an infinite resistance. In open circuit the current mush be zero. It is called uncompleted circuit or disconnected circuit. In electric circuit when switch id OFF then this OFF position shows an open circuit.

Closed Electric Circuit :
                                                It is called complete circuit, in which electric current may flow and complete its path.

  2. I finally understood the short, open and closed circuits. Every short circuit is a closed circuit, but every closed circuit is not a short circuit, because in closed circuits there is some resistance, and thus the current passage is limited. But short circuits are dangerous, cables can burn 'cause there is no resistance in the circuit. Well done... website link: open circuits vs closed circuits
